This session has been set up to develop advanced resident engagement approaches for complex projects

Using Severn Wye’s practical delivery model, we’ll look at how end-to-end services create better outcomes for residents and higher accountability for funders. Agenda: A different starting point: How retrofit support can begin with advice on fuel poverty, energy debt, or heating issues, responding to people’s immediate needs. From advice to action: Integrating impartial assessments, fabric-first coordination, and quality-controlled installations into a seamless resident journey. Built-in assurance: Independent compliance checks, support to understand systems before sign-off, and a single point of accountability across the process. Value for funders: Stronger data capture, better use of available funding, and improved resident satisfaction through a turnkey approach.

Our Resident Centred Retrofit course will equip you with the building blocks to create and deliver a successful resident engagement strategy, in order to support the outcomes of your retrofit projects. This event will feature presentations from experts, opportunities to ask questions and workshop with peers. The content will include: Session 1: Tuesday 16th September 09:00 - 12:00 (Modules 1-3). Module 1: Why deliver resident-centred retrofit? Module 2: Customer journey mapping. Module 3: Developing an engagement approach: People. Session 2 Thursday 18th September 09:00 - 12:00 (Modules 4-6). Module 4: Developing effective engagement: Tools and methods. Module 5: Identifying stakeholders and developing capacity. Module 6: Developing your strategy.

This masterclass explores how emerging and alternative electric heating technologies are playing a pivotal role in the decarbonisation of UK homes. It highlights innovative retrofit solutions and examines their potential to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and support the UK’s net-zero goals. The masterclass also considers the challenges and opportunities these technologies present for homeowners, industry stakeholders, and policymakers.

This masterclass, delivered by Claire Rooney of Field Studies Council, will explore biodiversity literacy for the housing sector. We will explore the role of biodiversity where we live: from shared green spaces, planting schemes, and wildlife corridors, to pollinator-friendly habitats, tree cover, soil health, and the wider environmental value of our neighbourhoods. The session is aimed at those working in retrofit, community engagement, asset management, and sustainability, and will improve your biodiversity literacy and highlight how retrofitting homes can go hand-in-hand with creating greener, more biodiverse neighbourhoods.
