Resident engagement for contractors, with Megan Creswell
We caught up with Megan, who is facilitating this session, on why it’s important for contractors to consider resident engagement when carrying out works:
“Engaging residents is crucial for the successful implementation of retrofit projects, which often involves complex and disruptive work. Effective resident engagement helps prevent issues such as low uptake and unspent funding, which can lead to project collapse.
“By involving residents from the outset, the project team can address potential concerns and ensure that the project meets the residents' needs and expectations.
“I recently delivered a Roundtable with the supply chain where resident engagement created the most discussion. This highlights the importance of the contractor's role in the resident's retrofit journey alongside a Resident Liaison Officer.”
Warmworks have recently been guests on the RISE podcast Apprenticeships in retrofit with Warmworks (on Spotify, and Apple Podcasts), and coming up on the 12 March, the RISE online Knowledge Share Masterclass Retrofit lessons learnt for the local grant with Warmworks. Megan shared what they’ll bring to this Futurebuild session:
“They will bring fresh examples of best practice in regards to resident engagement, and the involvement of contractors in this process, following their work with local authorities on previous waves the HUG programme (now Warm Homes: Local Grant).”
Megan explained why she’s looking forward to attending Futurebuild: “The retrofit supply chain is critical to successful housing retrofit delivery, which is why supporting retrofit contractors and suppliers is a vital part of RISE’s learning offer, with an aim of increasing retrofit knowledge, capacity and resources in the supply chain.
"We’re attending the Futurebuild conference to connect with the supply chain and therefore extend the reach of RISE’s support.”
Make sure that you register for your free pass to attend the conference to gain access to the full three days of learning and to meet the RISE team.
