Introducing RISE

Retrofit Information, Support and Expertise (RISE) offers training, guidance and support to help social housing providers, Local Authorities and their supply chains plan and deliver successful domestic retrofit programmes.

RISE offers a clear and simple pathway for organisations looking to bid for Government funding to deliver domestic retrofit schemes.

Formally known as the Social Housing Retrofit Accelerator (SHRA) and the Home Upgrade Hub (HUG), RISE brings both of these highly successful programmes together, creating a single, easy to navigate service.

Our expert-led team creates and delivers high quality training, events, content and one-to-one mentoring. These are all about making it easier for organisations to develop retrofit plans that not only attract funding but also meet the needs of residents, create more comfortable homes and support decarbonisation commitments.

As a centre of excellence, we also offer a comprehensive online hub of resources and ongoing learning and development programme, which makes accessing our services simple and easy to fit around busy schedules.

Alongside this, RISE offers support to those across the retrofit supply chain, enabling suppliers to better meet the needs of customers and the sector as a whole.

Critically, we offer all this valuable support for as long as it is needed. We make sure it’s as relevant to those at the very start of their retrofit journey as it is to those with more experience but who are looking to expand and improve.

And the services provided by the RISE team have already made a dramatic difference. RISE supported 98% of all successful Wave 2.1 bids, and successful LARS bids were on average £4 million higher if the applicant received support from the RISE team.

Ultimately, the true impact of RISE is felt most by the hundreds of thousands of people across England who have seen their home – and their lives – improved thanks to carefully planned and professionally delivered programmes of retrofit.

Who is delivering this programme?

RISE is a fully funded, Government backed service, offering support across England. Funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, the service is delivered by Turner & Townsend.

Who can we support?

RISE is accessible to all Social Housing providers and Local Authorities in England. Support provided will be relevant to the whole social housing sector, with a specific focus on those of you that can bid into the different Government funds to support domestic retrofit. If you are unsure whether you are eligible, please contact us

What support is available?

We can help you to overcome the barriers to developing retrofit projects and give you the best chance of successfully bidding for Government funding.

Our support covers a range of technical and bid management topics and is available through the Knowledge Hub on our website, at a comprehensive series of events and through one-to-one engagement for those of you leading bids for one of the relevant Government funds, including the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) and the Local Authority Retrofit Scheme (LARS).
