Announcement of Warm Homes funding allocation, March 2025

Introduction

The Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund Wave 3 application process, and the Warm Homes: Local Grant funding request process closed late last year.

The oversubscription to both these schemes demonstrates the very high level of ambition that local authorities and social housing providers have to retrofit homes and deliver warmer homes and lower energy bills for their residents.

£1.8 billion in government support will from today (Tuesday 11 March) be allocated to local authorities and social housing providers. This means that up to 170,000 homes in England will benefit from energy efficiency upgrades.

The oversubscription to both Warm Homes schemes means that the majority of successful applicants are being asked to rationalise their projects before delivery.

RISE support during the rationalisation process

The RISE website has a wide range of resources, including on demand content, Knowledge Hub articles and toolkits that relate to the process of rationising a project, and managing the process of this with stakeholders and partners. These will all continue to be available via the RISE website, and applicants will be directed to them as appropriate.

The resources that were produced to help applicants through the process of submitting an application or request (for example clarification videos, application writing Masterclass recordings etc) will also be available on the RISE website and shared as appropriate with applicants.

You can find a selection of these relevant resources here.
